Upon arrival, your child will be encouraged to find their name for self-register and the day will begin where your child can get involved in, role-play, messy play, reading, physical activities, sand and water play, snack time and circle time.
Our sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and Friday for children aged 2 years and 3 months to starting Primary School. The session times are outlined below:
Monday's: 9:00 - 15:45
Tuesday's: 9:00 - 12:30 pm
Wednesday's: 9:00 - 15:45
Thursday's: 9:00 - 15:45
Friday's: 9:00 - 13:30
Packed lunches are required for the full days and Friday's.
When joining the Pre-School your child will be allocated a key person who is responsible for their care and well-being as well as their profile and learning journey and leading a group of children. Our team is also responsible for the care and well-being of all children.
During circle time the groups will talk about the topic of the week (which can be found in the curriculum) and the item that they have brought in from home.
There is snack time within the session during which the children are given a drink of milk or water and are encouraged to make their own choices from a selection of healthy snacks. This helps children to develop social skills within small groups and independence. If your child has any intolerances please let us know so we can provide an acceptable alternative.
Lunch should be provided in a named lunch box/bag. The children need an additional drink in their lunch box which also needs to be named. The setting promotes healthy eating in line with current government guidelines. Please do not send your child in with nuts or anything that may contain nuts.
The Pre-School uniform consists of Polo-Shirts and Sweatshirts and is compulsory. Uniform can be purchased by downloading the order form in the 'Admissions, Fees & Forms' tab. If you wish to see any samples or sizes please ask Lisa Barker, Admissions Officer and she will arrange this for you. You can also email her at firstname.lastname@example.org Any ordered items that are not in stock take about three weeks to arrive at no additional cost to you.
The Rising Fives programme will be incorporated during Terms 5 and 6 of the older children that will be starting Primary School in September.
This helps children get ready for the challenge of changing in and out of a PE kit and preparing them for school. We encourage children to warm up and cool down and talk about how they feel.
The activities on offer are varied and will support children to work on their own or as part of a group. We talk about how exercise is a way of helping our bodies stay healthy.
Rising fives is all about having fun, whilst learning new skills.
